About Dr. Brenda Kingen, St. Louis (Brentwood) Chiropractor
Growing up in the rural town of West Branch, Michigan, Dr. Brenda Kingen became a chiropractic patient at the age of 19. It was her first summer break from undergraduate studies at Michigan State University. She chose to work at the local door factory hanging 80# doors on the paint line 60-70 hours/wk and played softball 3 nights/wk and tournaments almost every weekend. Within a couple of weeks she was complaining of severe right neck and shoulder pain. She had difficulty lifting her arm let alone throwing a softball. Rather than going to the family physician, her father sent her to his chiropractor. She was amazed at the ability of the body to heal without the use of drugs and surgery! She intuitively knew chiropractic was more than just about back pain.
When Dr. Kingen shared about her experience, she was met with many negative opinions about chiropractic. Even though medical school had always been in her plans, she followed her heart and entered Logan College of Chiropractic in 1990. Upon graduation in 1993, she chose to stay in St. Louis and practice as an associate doctor for three years. In 1996, she opened her own practice with a commitment to educate as many people as possible about the benefits of chiropractic care. “It’s not just about back pain, neck pain or headaches. It is a way of life for me. A healthy nervous system combined with a healthy lifestyle is going to allow human beings to live better longer.” Dr. Kingen specializes in postural correction and educating patients about lifestyle changes. The mission of Kingen Chiropractic Wellness Center is to be a “partner” in your healthcare, not to just get you out of pain.
When Dr. Kingen is not in her practice or out in the community lecturing about her life mission, you will usually find her playing golf, working in her yard or reading a good book. She was the on-site chiropractor for the LPGA Michelob Light Classic held in St. Louis from 1996-2001. She is also a presenter at clinics for the St Louis Business Women Golf Association and Circle of Fitness Golf Clinics. She is a member of the Missouri State Chiropractic Association, the Brentwood Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau.
Dr. Kingen, who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Logan College of Chiropractic, is regularly attending continuing education seminars to familiarize herself with the latest techniques and research results and to better assist you in your quest for better health. Dr. Brenda, as she is known to her patients, has received numerous awards and honors. She is also a much sought-after lecturer and guest speaker and active in her local community.
